Why should our institution become an Affiliate?
Hotels Direct Network™ (HDN) is affiliated with one of the leading online technology providers in the travel industry, Travel Sciences, Inc. HDN also has a strategic relationship with the world’s largest electronic hotel distribution switch, Pegasus Systems, Inc. Nearly every major hotel brand in the world connects to Pegasus, and this provides us with direct access to the hotels’ reservation systems and the best published rates available. Through these key relationships, we have eliminated the middle man and much of the distribution costs that other less attractive programs must incur.
Can an institution outside of the United States become an Affiliate?
Yes! With worldwide access to nearly 70,000 hotels, HDN provide its international affiliates with a competitive edge in locating any travel destination. HDN reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any affiliate application.
What does it cost to become an Affiliate?
Our program costs nothing to join.
Are there any other fees or expenses?
There are no hidden fees or costs that will suddenly appear after you sign up. All fees and charges are listed in the Affiliate Program Agreement. Usage charges apply relating to enhancement items such as interactive mapping usage, enhanced call center customer service usage and reservation system access processing charges. For basic transaction processing, a minimal fee of $1.50 applies for each hotel. The transaction processing fee does not vary based on the number of rooms or nights booked under a reservation; the same low fixed processing fee applies.
What is reservation tracking?
A visitor to your website either clicks a link which brings the visitor to our web search and booking engine, or initiates a search using the search object placed in your page. The visitor books a hotel online via the internet through our system. The reservation made by the visitor is then completed when they show up at the hotel booked and pays for the lodging. A reservation is not complete if the visitor fails to show-up or cancels, or the supplier of the travel product fails to report that visitor actually fulfilled the reservation.
How are reservations that originate from your website tracked and captured?
HDN uses Identification Numbers that allow us to identify the source of any reservation transaction that is made. When your website is correctly linked to our search and booking engine pages, your specific Identification Number will be associated with any reservation made by visitors to your website.
How can you keep track of hotel bookings?
HDN provides an advanced web accessible reporting tool that tracks all reservations made through your website. Cancellations that are made through HDN’s system will be recorded in your reporting statistics. You can access your hotel booking statistics for the current month or for a previous month at anytime.
